Description
Rex Nordic REX14000 mobile evaporative air cooler – eco-friendly cooling for halls, workshops and shops
The Rex Nordic REX14000 is an industrial evaporative air cooler (adiabatic cooling – lowering the temperature through water evaporation, without a compressor or refrigerant) with an airflow of up to 14,000 m³/h. The unit cools and humidifies the air, drawing power only to run the fan and the pump. With a maximum power consumption of just 510 W, the daily running cost drops below €2 per day – a fraction of the cost of traditional compressor air conditioning when cooling spaces of up to 120 m².
Range up to 120 m² and clean air with a UVC lamp
The cooler performs well in open spaces of up to 120 m² (and even up to around 175 m² in optimal conditions). The REX14000 not only lowers the temperature but also refreshes the air. The built-in UVC lamp sterilises the water circulating in the system, limiting the growth of bacteria, viruses and mould. An optimised impeller with smooth speed control of up to 1,380 rpm delivers even, quiet airflow at just 55 dB(A).
Mobile autonomy and ease of use
The unit is equipped with a 60 l water tank with a level indicator, as well as an automatic water inlet system (a garden hose can be connected permanently). The compact housing, measuring 740 × 500 × 1300 mm, rests on durable transport wheels, so at a weight of only 45 kg the cooler is easy to move between workstations. The 230 V / 50 Hz supply works from any standard socket.
Where an evaporative cooler works best
The REX14000 is designed for medium-sized, well-ventilated spaces where conventional air conditioning is uneconomical or hard to install:
- workshops, smaller halls and warehouses,
- garages, car washes and vehicle service stations,
- greenhouses, horticulture and animal husbandry,
- catering, shops and service points.
Evaporative cooling is most efficient with adequate air exchange – with windows or gates ajar, or with extraction in place.
Evaporative vs compressor air conditioning
Unlike a compressor air conditioner, an evaporative cooler does not recirculate the air but constantly supplies fresh, cooled and humidified air. The 510 W power draw is several times lower than that of compressor units of comparable capacity, and the absence of refrigerant means fully eco-friendly operation and lower servicing costs. Need more capacity? Reach for the more powerful Rex Nordic REX25000 with a 25,000 m³/h airflow. The manufacturer covers the unit with a 2 + 1 year warranty and full spare-parts availability.

Questions and answers
How large an area can the REX14000 cool?
The Rex Nordic REX14000 evaporative cooler effectively lowers the temperature over an area of up to 120 m², and in optimal conditions (high temperature, low humidity, good air exchange) even up to around 175 m². Its 14,000 m³/h airflow can cover a workshop, a smaller hall or several workstations at once.
How much electricity does it use and how much does it cost to run?
The REX14000 draws a maximum of 510 W, running on 230 V / 50 Hz at 2.2 A. Over a full day of operation this means a cost of below €2 per day – many times less than compressor air conditioning of comparable cooling capacity. The unit draws power only to run the fan and the water pump.
Does an evaporative cooler require installation or condensate drainage?
No, it does not. The REX14000 is a mobile, wheeled unit – simply plug it into a 230 V socket and fill the 60 l tank with water or connect a garden hose to the automatic inlet. It needs no outdoor unit, no wall drilling and no condensate drain, unlike compressor air conditioning.
What is the UVC lamp in the REX14000 for?
The built-in UVC lamp sterilises the water circulating in the cooling system, limiting the growth of bacteria, viruses and mould. As a result, the air blown into the room stays fresh and hygienic – which matters especially in catering, animal husbandry and spaces with many people.
REX14000 or REX25000 – which cooler should I choose?
The REX14000 (14,000 m³/h airflow, 60 l tank, 510 W) is a cooler for spaces up to 120 m² – workshops, shops, greenhouses and smaller halls. For large industrial spaces up to 250 m², the more powerful Rex Nordic REX25000 (25,000 m³/h, 170 l tank) is a better fit. Both units use the same eco-friendly evaporative technology and cost below €2 per day to run.
