Husqvarna EL 35 CnB 230 mm blades – set of 2 for Cut-n-Break cutting
Husqvarna EL 35 CnB is a pair of 230 mm Elite series diamond blades for power cutters that use the Cut-n-Break method (two blades cut side by side, the strip of material left between them is broken out with a tool, and the next cut goes deeper). This lets a cutter with a 230 mm blade open walls up to 400 mm thick. The EL 35 version is designed for hard materials: heavily reinforced concrete, granite and concrete above approx. 40 MPa. The set contains 2 blades with a segment height of 11 mm.
Which power cutters they fit
The manufacturer assigns EL 35 CnB to two machines: the petrol Husqvarna K 760 Cut-n-Break (3.7 kW) and the electric Husqvarna K 4000 Cut-n-Break (2.7 kW). Both take blades up to 230 mm and both reach a maximum cutting depth of 400 mm. A standard 230 mm angle grinder blade cannot replace a CnB set, because Cut-n-Break cutters run on a pair of blades with a dedicated mounting.
Hard materials and reinforced concrete
EL 35 CnB is a general purpose blade weighted towards hard materials. The manufacturer lists granite, river rock, quartz, flint, marble, precast panels, heavily reinforced concrete and concrete above 6,000 psi, i.e. approx. 41 MPa. The marking on the blade states Concrete / Building Bricks, so building brick is also within its range.
Wet cutting only
The blades are marked as not permitted for dry cutting. Water cools the diamond segments, binds silica dust and flushes slurry out of the kerf, which matters all the more at depths of up to 400 mm. The maximum peripheral speed is 80 m/s, which at 230 mm corresponds to 6,650 rpm. The blades meet the EN 13236 safety standard for diamond tools.
Smooth start with a new blade
The shape of the segments reduces their contact area with the concrete, so a new blade starts cutting quickly and in a controlled way, without a run-in period. The segment edge design self-sharpens during the first cuts. Husqvarna builds CnB blades to withstand cutting at the full 400 mm depth, which is out of reach for a standard 230 mm blade.
EL 35 CnB or EL 10 CnB?
Both sets share the same 230 mm diameter and 11 mm segment, so they fit the same power cutters. The Husqvarna EL 10 CnB set is the general construction version for concrete, brick and roof tile. EL 35 CnB is the choice when most cuts go through high-strength concrete, dense rebar or natural stone, where a blade for softer materials quickly loses cutting speed.
Why the blades come in pairs
In the Cut-n-Break method both blades work at the same time and wear at the same rate, so they are replaced together. A pair with uneven wear cuts unevenly, loads the gearbox and makes breaking out the strip harder. A set of 2 blades with identical specification gives even kerfs from the first cut to the last.
