Description

350 mm Blade for Cutting Porcelain Stoneware and Ceramic Tiles on a Table Saw

Nozar Gres Wizard Silentcut is a segmented diamond blade with a 350 mm diameter and a 25.4 mm bore, designed for cutting porcelain stoneware, outdoor ceramic pavers and ceramic tiles bonded to a concrete base. Its rim carries 44 segments measuring 20 × 3.2 × 10 mm (length × width × height). The Silentcut label stands for a noise-dampened core that reduces blade noise and vibration during work. The blade is used wet — on table saws and bridge saws that feed water to the segment. It is a different class of tool than 115–230 mm blades for angle grinders.

44 segments for hard porcelain

Porcelain stoneware (a sintered ceramic with water absorption below 0.5%) is hard and brittle, so it chips easily along the cut edge. Densely spaced segments — 44 around a 350 mm rim — spread the work over more contact points than typical concrete blades of the same diameter, which carry 24–30. The 3.2 mm segment width leaves a narrow kerf, and the 10 mm height provides a reserve of diamond for a long service life.

Silentcut dampened core

The Silentcut core absorbs the vibration that an ordinary steel core passes on to the material and to the operator. Less vibration means a steadier blade in the cut and a quieter saw — which matters during long cutting runs on site and in enclosed rooms. The blade complies with EN 13236 for diamond tools.

Which saws it fits

A 350 mm diameter with a 25.4 mm bore is the standard for tile and stone table saws, which reach a cutting depth of about 105–110 mm with this blade. It fits, among others, the DX-350 N 1300 table saw, the Dr. Schulze PS 350/1200 LST bridge saw, the Husqvarna TS 100 R table saw and the Nozar Alu Star 120 table saw.

350 mm blade vs grinder blade

115–230 mm porcelain blades fitted to an angle grinder are fine for single trims and cut-outs. For large-format tiles, 20 mm outdoor pavers and longer cutting runs a table saw is the better choice: it guides the material in a straight line, cools the segment with water and cuts the full thickness in one pass. For grinder trims the same brand offers the Nozar Fliese Viper 125 mm blade.

Questions and answers

What is the best blade for cutting porcelain stoneware?

Porcelain stoneware is best cut with a diamond blade made specifically for hard ceramics rather than a general-purpose concrete blade. What matters is densely spaced segments or a narrow continuous rim, a thin kerf and water cooling. Nozar Gres Wizard Silentcut carries 44 segments 3.2 mm wide on a 350 mm diameter and a noise-dampened core, so it is built for table saws and bridge saws used on large-format tiles and 20 mm outdoor pavers.

How do you cut porcelain tiles without chipping?

Chipping on porcelain is limited by three things: a sharp blade designed for ceramics, constant water cooling and an even, moderate feed rate. The tile lies face up on the saw table, and the end of the cut is fed more slowly, because that is where the edge breaks most often. A blade with 44 segments and a 3.2 mm kerf spreads the load over more contact points than a concrete blade of the same 350 mm diameter, which reduces glaze chipping.

What is the best tool for cutting porcelain stoneware?

Single trims and cut-outs in porcelain are made with an angle grinder fitted with a 115–230 mm diamond blade or with a manual tile cutter. For large-format tiles, 20 mm outdoor pavers and longer cutting runs an electric table saw with a 300–350 mm blade and water cooling is the better choice. It cuts the full thickness in one pass, guides the material in a straight line and reaches a cutting depth of about 105–110 mm.

Can the Gres Wizard blade be used for dry cutting?

The Nozar Gres Wizard Silentcut 350 mm blade is marked with a table saw and a water drop pictogram, which means wet cutting. Water cools the 44 segments, flushes out the slurry and binds the silica dust that is harmful to the lungs when porcelain is cut dry. The 350 mm blade runs on table saws and bridge saws with a water system, not on hand-held petrol cut-off saws used for dry cutting.

Which saws does a 350 x 25.4 mm blade fit?

A 350 mm blade with a 25.4 mm bore fits table saws and bridge saws designed for a blade of this diameter, such as the DX-350 N 1300, DR-350, Dr. Schulze PS 350/1200 LST and PS 350/1500 LST, Husqvarna TS 100 R and Nozar Alu Star 120. Before mounting, check the maximum blade diameter allowed by the machine guard and the arbor size. Most of these saws reach a cutting depth of 105–110 mm with a 350 mm blade.

What does the Silentcut label on the blade mean?

Silentcut is the name NOZAR uses for blades with a noise-dampened core. Such a core absorbs the vibration that an ordinary steel core passes on to the material and the saw housing, so the saw runs quieter and the blade tracks more steadily in the cut. This matters during long cutting runs in enclosed rooms. Gres Wizard Silentcut has a 350 mm diameter and 44 segments, and complies with EN 13236 for diamond tools.

Which materials does the Nozar Gres Wizard Silentcut blade cut?

According to the manufacturer's markings the blade cuts porcelain stoneware (porcelanato), compact sintered ceramics, 20 mm outdoor ceramic pavers and ceramic tiles bonded to a concrete base. The 10 mm high, 3.2 mm wide segment is matched to hard, brittle materials with water absorption below 0.5%. For reinforced concrete, asphalt and granite NOZAR offers separate 350 mm blades, such as Laser Beton 10 and Dia-TS iG5-HSS.
