Description

Titan POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) battery-powered line striper — sealed hydraulic road marking machine

A line striper (road marking machine) pumps paint to an airless gun while the operator walks the cart along the line. The Titan POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) is the battery-powered version of the POWRLINER series with a sealed hydraulic system. It is driven by a brushless Honda eGX 72 V motor that Titan designed to closely match the output of a conventional GX120 petrol engine. The machine delivers up to 2.8 L/min (0.75 GPM) at up to 228 bar (3300 psi), weighs 90.7 kg (200 lb) and sprays latex and oil-based coatings for field and pavement marking. The box includes an RX-80 airless gun, a 419 line striping tip, a 15 m (50 ft) airless hose, a Honda eGX battery and a charger.

72 V battery instead of a petrol engine

A brushless DC Honda eGX motor powered by a 72 V battery drives the machine, so there is no fuel, no exhaust and no pull-start. According to Titan, the Honda battery technology greatly reduces vibration, so the lines come out even cleaner than from Titan's petrol-powered stripers. The box contains one Honda eGX battery and a charger; the manufacturer also offers a two-battery configuration, which you can ask about when ordering.

PermaStroke hydraulic pump without a piston or clutch

The sealed PermaStroke hydraulic system has no piston, packings, cylinders or clutch to replace, and no electronics that could burn out. Only two wear parts need replacing, and both can be changed in the field. The Sureflo pusher valve makes priming easy, the FlatLine pulsation dampener removes pressure fluctuations, and the no-spill pump filter keeps the paint in the housing when you take it out.

2.8 L/min and 228 bar for sports fields, car parks and yards

Maximum delivery is 2.8 L/min (0.75 GPM), maximum operating pressure 228 bar (22.8 MPa) and the largest tip for a single gun is 0.027″. The pumping figures are the same as on the petrol-powered POWRLINER 3500 1 gun in the NORWIT.PL range. The machine sprays latex and oil-based coatings for field and pavement marking, so it suits lines on sports fields, car parks and yards. Thick-film materials such as thermoplastics need a different machine.

RX-80 gun, 419 tip and 15 m hose included

The box holds a Titan RX-80 airless gun, a 419 line striping tip, a 1/4″ × 50 ft (about 15 m) airless hose, a Honda eGX battery and a charger. The gun is removable, so once it is off the machine you can use it for stencilling. Choose another line width with a different tip, for example the Titan 421 road line tip.

16″ pneumatic tyres and 90.7 kg weight

Large 16″ pneumatic tyres make the machine easier to move over rough surfaces. Titan gives the weight as 200 lb, which is 90.7 kg.

Battery 72 V or petrol 3500 1 gun?

Both stripers deliver 2.8 L/min at 228 bar. Choose the petrol POWRLINER 3500 1 gun (Honda GX 120 engine, 2.98 kW) for long jobs without a power source, because you only top up the fuel. Choose the POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) when you want to work without exhaust fumes and fuel and with less vibration. Run time depends on the battery capacity, which the manufacturer does not state, so for large jobs ask about a second battery.

Questions and answers

What is the POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) line striper and what is it used for?

A line striper is a machine that paints lines and stripes on a surface. The Titan POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) is a battery-powered cart version with a sealed hydraulic pump: the pump delivers up to 2.8 L/min of paint at up to 228 bar to an airless gun while the operator walks the machine along the line. The manufacturer designs it for latex and oil-based coatings for field and pavement marking. A Honda eGX 72 V motor drives it and the machine weighs 90.7 kg.

What paint can I use for marking lines on a car park or sports field?

The manufacturer names latex and oil-based coatings for field and pavement marking. The machine has an airless pump rated at 2.8 L/min and 228 bar, the largest tip for a single gun is 0.027 inch, and a 419 line striping tip is included. Thick-film materials such as thermoplastics or two-component cold plastics are not applied with this machine, so choose different equipment for them. Before buying paint, check in its data sheet that it is meant for airless spraying.

What pressure, delivery and tip size does the POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) have?

Maximum delivery is 2.8 L/min (0.75 GPM), maximum operating pressure is 228 bar (22.8 MPa, 3300 psi) and the maximum tip size with one gun is 0.027 inch. The box includes a Titan RX-80 gun, a 419 line striping tip and an airless hose about 15 m long. You can buy other tips separately, for example the Titan 421 road line tip.

How does the battery POWRLINER 3500 (72 V) differ from the petrol POWRLINER 3500 1 gun?

Both machines deliver 2.8 L/min at 228 bar. The 72 V version has a brushless Honda eGX motor powered by a battery, so it works without fuel and exhaust fumes and, according to the manufacturer, with less vibration. The petrol POWRLINER 3500 1 gun has a 2.98 kW Honda GX 120 engine and only needs refuelling, which suits long jobs without a power source. Run time of the battery version depends on the battery capacity, which the manufacturer does not state.

What is in the box and can I use the gun for stencilling?

The box contains a Titan RX-80 airless gun, a 419 line striping tip, a 1/4 inch × 50 ft (about 15 m) airless hose, a Honda eGX 72 V battery and a charger. The gun is removable, so once it is off the machine you can use it for stencilling. Additional tips and paint are bought separately.

How do I service the PermaStroke hydraulic pump?

The PermaStroke pump has no piston, packings, cylinders or clutch to replace, and the sealed hydraulic system has no electronics that could burn out. Only two wear parts need replacing and both can be changed in the field. The Sureflo valve makes priming easy and the pump filter keeps the paint in the housing when you remove it. The machine weighs 90.7 kg and rolls on 16 inch pneumatic tyres.
