Description

Toolsa industrial vacuum cleaner hose ⌀50 mm — polyurethane with copper wire

The Toolsa ⌀50 mm suction hose is a 10 m length of flexible polyurethane (PU) tubing reinforced with a copper wire helix. The copper acts as an earth path: it drains the electrostatic charge that builds up when dry concrete dust travels through the hose at tens of metres per second. The hose is intended for dust class H industrial vacuum cleaners running ⌀50 mm tooling — Toolsa TAMC2000, TAMC3000 and TAAC3200.

Polyurethane instead of PVC — abrasion resistance

Polyurethane (PU) is an elastomer with far higher abrasion resistance than PVC or EVA. That matters on extraction from concrete grinders and scarifiers, where sharp quartz particles travel through the hose and sand the wall from the inside — fastest on bends and right behind the cuff. A PU hose survives the same material considerably longer, which is why it is the standard choice for concrete surface preparation.

Antistatic: copper wire and earthing tail

The copper wire helix runs the full length of the hose and comes out at the end as an earthing tail. Connected to an earthed vacuum cleaner, the charge flows into the machine instead of accumulating on the wall. Without that path, dry dust can charge the hose to the point where the operator takes a shock on contact — and where combustible dust is airborne, it becomes an ignition risk.

For Toolsa vacuums with ⌀50 mm tooling

The hose fits the Toolsa TAMC2000 (2.4 kW, 400 m³/h airflow, 240 mbar water lift), the TAMC3000 (3.6 kW) and the TAAC3200 (3.6 kW). All three run ⌀50 mm tooling and ship with threaded ⌀50 mm hose cuffs and a ⌀70/50 mm adaptor for the machine inlet. It does not fit the TAAC15 — that model uses ⌀38 mm tooling.

PU 10 m or EVA 7.5 m — which to pick

Two ⌀50 mm hoses serve the same machines. The EVA 7.5 m version (double layer, antistatic, grey) is lighter and cheaper — a good match for cleaning duties and wet pick-up. The PU 10 m version is heavier, but it stands up to abrasive dust from grinding and scarifying concrete, and the extra 2.5 m of reach means fewer stops to move the vacuum.

A hose is a wear part: replace it when the wall thins out on a bend or splits at the cuff, not when suction finally drops off. See the rest of our vacuum cleaner accessories, the full industrial vacuum cleaner range and other Toolsa products at NORWIT.PL.

Questions and answers

Which hose fits the Toolsa TAMC2000 industrial vacuum cleaner?

The Toolsa TAMC2000 runs 50 mm tooling, so any ⌀50 mm suction hose with a threaded Toolsa cuff will fit it. The machine ships with a 7.5 m EVA hose in ⌀50 mm; the 10 m polyurethane version is a replacement with higher abrasion resistance and 2.5 m more reach. The same hose serves the TAMC3000 (3.6 kW) and the TAAC3200 (3.6 kW). On the ⌀70 mm machine inlet the hose connects through a ⌀70/50 mm reducing adaptor, which is part of the standard kit on both machines.

What is the difference between an antistatic hose and an ordinary vacuum hose?

An antistatic hose carries a conductive element in its wall — on the Toolsa PU hose that is a copper wire helix running the full 10 m and emerging at the end as an earthing tail. An ordinary plastic hose is an insulator: dust travelling at tens of metres per second charges the wall electrostatically, and the accumulated charge discharges as a spark on contact. In an antistatic hose the charge drains into the earthed machine continuously. On dry concrete and gypsum dust that is a practical requirement, and with combustible dust it is a fire safety matter.

Why does a vacuum hose have a copper wire?

The copper wire does two jobs at once. First it is a reinforcing helix: it holds the ⌀50 mm bore open while the vacuum pulls around 240 mbar, so the hose does not collapse when the nozzle blocks. Second it is the discharge path that carries electrostatic charge into the earthed machine. Copper conducts better than steel, so the wire can be thinner and the hose stays flexible. The wire end is brought outside the wall — when fitting the cuff it must be clamped so that it contacts a metal part of the connection.

PU or EVA hose for an industrial vacuum cleaner — which one?

Polyurethane is the choice wherever abrasive material passes through the hose: dust from scarifying, grinding and cutting concrete carries sharp quartz particles that sand the wall from the inside, fastest on bends. A ⌀50 mm PU hose 10 m long survives those conditions many times longer than EVA. The ⌀50 mm EVA hose at 7.5 m is lighter and cheaper, so it suits cleaning duties, wet pick-up and non-abrasive dust. In practice workshops keep both: PU on the grinder, EVA for housekeeping.

How do you connect a ⌀50 mm hose to a vacuum with a ⌀70 mm inlet?

The connection is made with a ⌀70/50 mm reducing adaptor, part of the standard kit on the Toolsa TAMC2000, TAMC3000 and TAAC3200. The adaptor enters the ⌀70 mm machine inlet and the threaded hose cuff screws onto its ⌀50 mm side. At the tool end you use a second ⌀50 mm cuff, or a reduction to ⌀38 mm if the grinder or scarifier has a smaller extraction port. Make sure the earthing tail touches a metal part of the connection, otherwise the antistatic path does nothing.

Does a ⌀50 mm hose fit the Toolsa TAAC15?

The Toolsa TAAC15 takes 38 mm tooling, so a ⌀50 mm hose will not thread onto its inlet. The TAAC15 is a single motor 1.2 kW machine with 262 m³/h airflow and a 38 l tank, designed for hand grinders and gypsum work, and it is matched with ⌀38 mm hoses and tools. The ⌀50 mm hose belongs on the higher airflow machines: TAMC2000 (400 m³/h), TAMC3000 and TAAC3200. Combining the two sizes through a ⌀50/38 mm reduction makes sense only at the tool end, never at the vacuum.
