Description
Fogo F 8001 iE inverter generator – 7.0 kW from one 32 A socket, 65 kg and electric start
Fogo F 8001 iE is a single-phase inverter generator for 230 V with 7.5 kW maximum and 7.0 kW rated output, powered by a Rato R420-V engine of 420 cm³, with an electric starter and a starter battery included as standard. Voltage stabilisation of +/-1 % and distortion of THD ≤ 3 % make it suitable for electronic equipment, while the weight of 65 kg and the transport set make it easy to move. The rated current of 30.4 A is available from a single 32 A socket. It is a limited series from the manufacturer.
Inverter technology – voltage +/-1 % and THD ≤ 3 %
In an inverter generator the alternator output is processed electronically, so the voltage and the 50 Hz frequency stay stable regardless of engine speed. In the Fogo F 8001 iE the voltage tolerance is +/-1 % and harmonic distortion does not exceed 3 %, which is half of a conventional AVR generator (+/-2 %, THD up to 6 %). That makes it safe for boiler controllers, computers, chargers and measuring equipment, as well as power tools, pumps and site lighting.
Automatic speed reduction and fuel consumption
The engine automatically lowers its speed as the load drops, which reduces fuel consumption during lighter work. The manufacturer states 2.4 l/h at 50 % load and 3.9 l/h at full load. The 17 l tank therefore lasts about 7 hours at half load and about 4.4 hours at full load.
7.0 kW from one 32 A socket and a USB port
The panel has a 230 V 16 A socket, a 230 V 32 A socket from which you can take the full rated 7.0 kW (30.4 A) through a single cable, and a USB port. Gauges show voltage, frequency, running time and load in percent, while the overload indicator and electronic overload protection guard against exceeding the output. Induction motors (pumps, concrete mixers, compressors) draw 3-5 times more current at start-up, so match the load to the rated output, not the maximum.
Electric start, battery and 12 V charging
The engine is started by an electric starter powered by the starter battery that is part of the equipment, and manual start remains as a back-up. The generator also has a battery charging function: a 12 V socket with leads and a current of 8.3 A lets you top up a machine or vehicle battery. The low oil level lamp warns when there is too little oil in the 0.5 l sump.
65 kg, wheels and handles included
The dimensions of 605 x 514 x 537 mm and the weight of 65 kg are modest for a 7.0 kW output (the F 8001 iSG weighs 105 kg for comparison); the transport set with wheels is standard equipment, so you can roll the generator around the site without buying extra accessories. The sound power level is 105 dB(A), so use hearing protection during continuous work.
Which Fogo generator to choose
If you need a dual-fuel engine (petrol and LPG), choose the Fogo F 8001 iSG weighing 105 kg with a 20.3 l tank. If you prefer a conventional AVR generator with a 45 l tank and 6.2 kW, choose the Fogo F 7001 TRE. The F 8001 iE is 40 kg lighter than the iSG and comes with electric start and a battery as standard.

Questions and answers
What is the difference between the Fogo F 8001 iE inverter generator and an AVR generator?
In an inverter generator the alternator output is processed electronically, so the Fogo F 8001 iE keeps the voltage within +/-1 % with distortion up to 3 % THD and a stable 50 Hz frequency. A conventional generator with an AVR regulator, such as the Fogo F 7001 TRE, holds the voltage within +/-2 % at up to 6 % THD. The inverter is also lighter: 65 kg at a rated 7.0 kW, while the F 7001 TRE weighs 95 kg at 5.6 kW. The AVR generator, in turn, has a bigger tank (45 l against 17 l).
What loads can the Fogo F 8001 iE power?
The Fogo F 8001 iE delivers 7.0 kW rated (30.4 A at 230 V) and 7.5 kW maximum, and the full output is available from a single 32 A socket. It powers power tools, pumps, concrete mixers and site lighting, as well as equipment sensitive to voltage fluctuation: boiler controllers, computers and chargers. Induction motors draw 3-5 times more current at start-up than in steady running, so the largest such motor should be rated at about 1.4-2.3 kW.
How long does the Fogo F 8001 iE run on one tank?
The Fogo F 8001 iE tank holds 17 l of petrol. The manufacturer states consumption of 2.4 l/h at 50 % load and 3.9 l/h at full load, which gives about 7 hours of running at half load and about 4.4 hours at full load. The engine automatically lowers its speed at lower load, so during light work consumption is even lower and the run time longer.
What is the difference between the Fogo F 8001 iE and the F 8001 iSG?
Both generators are single-phase inverter models, but the Fogo F 8001 iSG has a dual-fuel engine (petrol and LPG), a 20.3 l tank and weighs 105 kg. The Fogo F 8001 iE runs on petrol, has a 17 l tank, weighs 65 kg and belongs to a limited series. Both have voltage stabilisation of +/-1 %. Choose the iSG if you want to run the engine on gas, and the iE when low weight and compact size matter.
Can the Fogo F 8001 iE generator be started manually?
The Fogo F 8001 iE has two starting systems: electric and manual. The starter, powered by the starter battery that is part of the equipment, turns over the single-cylinder Rato R420-V engine of 420 cm³ without effort, and manual start remains as a back-up. Check the oil level in the 0.5 l sump before starting; the low oil level lamp warns about missing oil but does not replace the check.
Can the Fogo F 8001 iE be connected to a home installation?
A generator must not be plugged into a wall socket. A home installation is powered through a mains-generator changeover switch or a dedicated inlet fitted by a qualified electrician, which prevents back-feeding the grid and running the grid and the generator at the same time. The Fogo F 8001 iE delivers 7.0 kW rated (30.4 A) with voltage stabilisation of +/-1 %, which suits a boiler controller and circulation pumps, but the 17 l tank lasts about 4.4 hours at full load, so plan a fuel reserve for longer outages.
What is included in the equipment of the Fogo F 8001 iE?
As standard the generator has a 230 V 16 A socket, a 230 V 32 A socket, a USB port, a socket with leads for charging a 12 V battery (8.3 A), gauges for voltage, frequency, running time and load in percent, an overload indicator, electronic overload protection, a low oil level lamp, a transport set with wheels and a starter battery. The dimensions are 605 x 514 x 537 mm and the weight is 65 kg. It is a limited series from the manufacturer.
Can the Fogo F 8001 iE be used in a garage or workshop?
Petrol engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which is odourless and toxic, so the generator must run outdoors or in a well-ventilated place, never in an enclosed room. The sound power level of the Fogo F 8001 iE is 105 dB(A), so use hearing protection during continuous work and place the generator at a safe distance from the windows and doors of the building.
