Low Rider Rato advantagewhat you pay for it

Rato R740 V-Twin power
A 739 cm³ V-Twin with electric start and electronic speed governing that keeps the rotors working at an even pace.

Low Rider operator station
The low seat between two control levers gives the operator a direct view of the slab and precise control of the finish.

Blade pitch adjustment
The crank sets the blade pitch from flat on wet concrete to maximum for polishing, so one machine covers every stage.

Spray control on the lever
An electric pump feeds water from the tank onto the slab, and a button on the lever starts spraying without a pause in work.
Low-slung operator position

67 cm
The Low Rider seat sits low above the slab, giving a clearer view of the concrete ahead of the rotors and more confident control of the machine.
A 1910 mm path in a single pass
1910 mm
Counter-rotating rotors, left clockwise and right anticlockwise, keep the machine stable, while blades set in a “+” and “x” pattern never collide.
Details designed for easier work

Full control underfootthrottle and safety pedals, hands on the levers
Spraying without downtimea dedicated water tank feeds the spray pump
Close to walls and columnsa tubular guard protects blades and surroundings
Productive after darkwork lights at the front and rear of the machine
Quick repositioning around the site

4.00–8 transport wheels and a lifting lever with rollers come as standard, so the machine is simply rolled across the site by its lever.

Spare blades
1.6l
Predictable running costs
An oil change takes 1.6 l, and a dual-element air filter (paper and foam) protects the engine from construction-site dust.
8pcs
355 × 150 mm blades on two rotors
The 960 mm pan closes the surface in the first passes, and the blades bring the final smoothness at 70-150 rpm.
Complete equipment for concrete floors
A ride-on trowel finishes the open slab, while edges and corners are completed with a walk-behind power trowel.

Questions and answers
What is a ride-on power trowel and when is it worth choosing over a walk-behind one?
A ride-on power trowel is a machine for finishing fresh concrete on which the operator sits and controls two rotors with two levers. The Toolsa TPT-836 Low Rider has two rotors with 960 mm pans, so it finishes a path about 1.9 m wide in one pass, while a walk-behind single-rotor trowel covers 600-900 mm. It pays off from floors of several hundred m² per day: warehouses, halls, car parks and industrial slabs, where speed and operator fatigue matter.
What does Low Rider mean on the Toolsa TPT-836?
Low Rider is the version with a low-mounted seat and a lowered centre of gravity. The operator sits right above the slab, sees the pan edge and can reach the concrete without leaving the machine, for example to remove a protruding piece of rebar. The control levers sit on the outer sides of the legs, in line with the arms, which reduces fatigue during long shifts. The machine measures 1960 x 1080 x 1290 mm and weighs 350 kg.
How does the Rato R740 version differ from the other TPT-836 Low Rider version?
Both versions share the same frame, two 2 x 900 mm rotors with 960 mm pans, EHG gearboxes, electric-pump misting and the transport kit; the engine is the difference. This product is the Rato R740 version: a twin-cylinder V-Twin with a 739 cm³ displacement, 18.5 kW (25 HP) output and 1.6 l of engine oil. The other version runs the Honda GX 690 (22.1 HP, 688 cm³, 1.9 l of oil). Honda offers the wider service network, Rato more power and a lower purchase price.
What area does the Toolsa TPT-836 Low Rider finish and at what rotor speed?
Two 900 mm rotors (960 mm pans) give a working diameter of about 1910 mm, so a path of almost 2 m per pass. Rotor speed is adjustable between 70 and 150 rpm: low speed on pans to close the surface, high speed on blades for final burnishing. Output depends on the concrete and the number of passes, but a machine of this class is selected for slabs from several hundred to several thousand m².
Which blades and pans fit the TPT-836 Low Rider power trowel?
Each rotor has 4 arms, so a full set is 8 blades of 355 x 150 mm; two 960 mm float pans come with the machine. Combination and finishing blades and pans for 36-inch rotors (900-960 mm) are listed among trowel tools, for example Barikell Pala 4-90 blades and the Barikell 940 float pan. Blade pitch is adjusted with a crank at each rotor.
How do you transport a 350 kg ride-on power trowel?
A three-piece transport kit is included: a handle with a lever that works as a jack and two wheels that clip into the frame once the machine is lifted. One person can roll 350 kg across the slab this way, without a forklift. A transport hook serves for loading onto a trailer, and the 1960 x 1080 x 1290 mm footprint fits a standard construction trailer.
When should trowelling start with a ride-on machine and how should the speed be set?
The first pass on pans is made when the concrete carries the weight of the operator and the machine and a boot leaves a print about 3-5 mm deep, usually 2-5 hours after the pour depending on temperature and mix. Pans run at 70-100 rpm; after removing them, combination and finishing blades run at 120-150 rpm with an increasing pitch. Misting 25-30 cm above the floor prevents the surface from drying out between passes.
How is the Rato R740 engine serviced on the TPT-836 Low Rider?
The Rato R740 engine takes 1.6 l of four-stroke engine oil; the first change follows the run-in period and later changes follow the engine manufacturer's manual. The V-belt tensioner is adjusted with two bolts without moving the engine, and the grease nipples on the spiders are greased daily. The battery is mounted externally, so the terminals are disconnected without removing the guards. Consumables and service advice are available from NORWIT.PL.
