Description

Enar Stella LED lighting tower: 4 floodlights, 5 m mast, 123 kg

The Enar Stella is a compact lighting tower, a mobile unit with a telescopic mast and LED floodlights for lighting construction sites, roads and areas without permanent lighting. Four 150 W LED floodlights on a 5 m mast light up to 3,800 m² at an average of 10 lx, according to the manufacturer. The tower weighs 123 kg, rolls on four wheels and runs from a 100–240 V mains supply or a generator such as the Enar GEEL 3.

Four 150 W LED floodlights

Total lighting power is 600 W. The floodlight heads rotate 360° and are adjusted without tools. A die-cast aluminium housing and frame protect the LED modules from impacts, and the manufacturer rates the floodlights for up to 50,000 hours. The lamps carry energy class A++ under EU regulation 1194/2012.

5 m mast with a manual winch

The mast is a five-section telescopic type raised with a manual winch with an automatic brake, so it needs no engine or hydraulics. Maximum height is 5 m. A taller mast spreads light over a larger area, a shorter one gives stronger light on a smaller area.

Coverage up to 3,800 m²

The manufacturer states coverage of up to 3,800 m² at an average of 10 lx. That is general-purpose lighting, enough for access roads, storage yards and car parks. For tasks that need more precision, position the tower closer to the work area.

Powered from the 230 V mains or a generator

The Stella does not generate power. It accepts 100–240 V (50/60 Hz) and draws 600 W in total, so you can plug it into a socket or a generator. With the Enar GEEL 3 generator the manufacturer quotes fuel use of up to 0.6 l/h and up to 24 hours of continuous running. The ready-made pair is the Stella with GEEL 3 generator set.

Working in wind: limits from the manual

The Stella has wind stabilisers. The manufacturer manual allows the full 5 m height in wind below 30 km/h and only a mast extended to 3 m in wind of 30–50 km/h. Above 50 km/h the mast must not be used, and it must be lowered at once when strong wind is forecast.

123 kg on four wheels

Transport dimensions are 1090 × 835 × 1950 mm. The tower rolls around the site on its own wheels with a handle, without a crane or forklift. Use ramps or a second person when loading it onto a trailer. Operating temperature ranges from −5 to +40 °C.

Stella or a tower with its own engine

A tower with its own diesel generator, such as the Wacker Neuson LTN5Ypa (695 kg, 7.8 m mast), is heavier and needs a trailer, but lights a larger area. The Stella weighs 123 kg and suits small and medium construction sites.

When to choose the Stella

Choose it for evening work on renovations and roadworks, for lighting a storage yard and for securing an incident site. It makes sense where you have a 230 V socket or a small generator and do not need a mast taller than 5 m.

Questions and answers

Does the Enar Stella lighting tower generate its own power?

The Enar Stella has no generator of its own and does not produce power. It accepts 100–240 V (50/60 Hz) and draws 600 W in total from four 150 W LED floodlights. Power it from a 230 V socket or a generator. The manufacturer recommends the Enar GEEL 3 generator, with which it quotes fuel use of up to 0.6 l/h and up to 24 hours of continuous running.

Which generator should I choose for the Stella lighting tower?

The Stella draws 600 W, so it needs a generator with a continuous output clearly above 1 kW. The manufacturer recommends the Enar GEEL 3 rated 2.8 kW (3.0 kW maximum), 230 V and weighing 49 kg. The reserve of about 2.2 kW is enough for a small tool. You can buy them together as the Stella with GEEL 3 generator set.

How large an area does the Stella tower light?

According to the manufacturer the Stella lights up to 3,800 m² at an average of 10 lx, which equals general lighting of access roads, storage yards and car parks. For tasks needing more precision, position the tower closer to the work area or add a second one. A higher mast extension increases the area covered but lowers light intensity.

How tall is the Stella mast and how is it raised?

The mast is a five-section telescopic type reaching a maximum of 5 m. It is raised with a manual winch with an automatic brake, without an engine or hydraulics. Before raising it, set the tower on level ground and deploy the stabilisers. Do not raise or lower the mast while the generator is running.

In what wind can the Stella tower be used?

The Enar manual allows the full 5 m height in wind below 30 km/h. In wind of 30–50 km/h the mast may only be used extended to 3 m, and above 50 km/h it must not be used. When strong wind is forecast the mast must be lowered at once. Wind stabilisers are part of the equipment.

How much does the Stella weigh and how do I move it around the site?

The Stella weighs 123 kg without a generator and its transport dimensions are 1090 × 835 × 1950 mm. It rolls on four wheels with a handle, so one person can move it across firm ground. Use ramps or a second person when loading it onto a trailer or into a van.

How long do the LED floodlights in the Stella last?

The manufacturer rates the LED floodlights for up to 50,000 hours of continuous running, and the lamps have energy class A++ under EU regulation 1194/2012. The four floodlights draw 600 W in total, about 14.4 kWh per day. The heads rotate 360° and are adjusted without tools.
